Payment of Fees
Tuition is paid per session (fall, spring, summer). Tuition for a session remains the same regardless of a student’s attendance. Tuition is processed through our online payment portal or can be paid directly by cash or check. Tuition is non-refundable. Tuition is not pro-rated if a student misses their class, and it is not based on how many of their classes a student may or may not attend within a session. Payments must be kept current in order for students to continue their participation. Payments can be made in installments or paid in full at the beginning of a session. There is a $20 fee for returned checks.
Students who are invited to perform at a regional showcase and/or competition during the year with the 505 Performance Team will be responsible for paying competition fees and/or convention tuition. Membership is by invitation, and scholarships may be available for invited students who need financial assistance.
We communicate mainly through email and through our website. A calendar of events and important dates is available at the studio, through email and on the website. We can always be reached through email with any questions.
Watch-Weeks & Bring-A-Friend Weeks
Parents and guests are invited to observe classes at the studio during Watch Weeks. This is a great opportunity to see what goes on in class and see how students are progressing. We have one Watch Week at the end of each session—Fall, Spring, and Summer. Bring-A-Friend weeks are a great chance to bring friends to class who might be interested in taking class. They participate for free their first time and must wear proper attire for dance class. We have one Bring-A-Friend day during each session. See the calendar for exact dates.
Students are expected to attend and be on time for all classes. If a class is missed, a student can make up the class by attending a different class for free during the week. The make-up class must happen within 1 month of the class missed. Students should ask their instructors for the appropriate make-up class. There are no refunds or pro-rating of tuition for missed classes. Attendance is required the week before any performance in order to participate. In cases of ongoing attendance issues, conflicts, behavior problems, etc., Studio 505 reserves the right to dismiss any student and/or parent from the studio whose attitude, attendance, or conduct is found disrupted or unacceptable—any fees paid up to this point remain non-refundable.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Please be prompt in dropping off and picking up your child. Do not drop off students more than 15 minutes prior to a class and make sure to pick them up promptly. Studio 505 is not responsible for providing before or after class supervision.
Class Placement and Size
Students are placed in classes based on ability, and not necessarily by age. A student may be asked to move to a class better suited for their level and ability. A reasonable class size will always be maintained. Classes require a minimum enrollment of 6 students. If a class does not meet the minimum enrollment it will be placed on hold until the next session.
Classes may include video analysis/observation, discussion groups, and other learning activities related to dance and movement arts. All class activities assist in the educational and artistic process. Some class may also include lessons in improvisation, dance notation, and choreography workshops.
Classroom Attire, Rules, and Behavior
Students must wear proper dance attire and shoes in order to take class. A list of appropriate attire is available on the website or at the studio at all times. Respectful dance studio etiquette is expected and upheld at all times. Studio 505 reserves the right to dismiss any student, client, or parent whose attitude, attendance, or conduct is found to be disruptive or unsatisfactory.
Lost and Found
Items left at the studio are kept for a limited time in the lost and found. All unclaimed items are donated to local charities.
Parents, legal guardians of minors, students, and adult clients waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained while taking a Studio 505 class resulting from normal dance or athletic activity, or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class time.
